WorkSafe Awards 2011

The WorkSafe Health and Safety Representative (HSR) category acknowledges HSR's who have made a significant contribution and demonstrable difference to OHS within their designated workgroups. It recognises the ability of an HSR to raise OHS issues with the employer and demonstrate persistence in difficult environments.

Catholic Homes is delighted to announce that Maintenance Officer Julian Derum from St Catherine's Aged Care Facility was shortlisted for this prestigious award.  Julian was elected as the HSR in January 2005 and takes his role very seriously.  Julian enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience in order to keep the workplace safe for residents, family, staff, contractors and visitors and to provide a comfortable home.  While Julian was not successful in winning the Worksafe Award, Catholic Homes and St Catherine's Aged Care Facility would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Julian for his outstanding work.
